We're incredibly proud and excited to announce that our turkeys this year will come from Maple Ranch...
These beautiful bronze turkeys have been reared in the woodlands of the Maple Ranch Estate, with a stocking density of over 100 foot per bird. The woodlands are a beautiful natural habitat that is densely populated with nut producing trees and insect life, and the farm has in place a number of measures to increase this insect life and other wildlife to increase biodiversity. The turkeys will receive almost half of their calories from the nuts and insects found on the forest floor, with the rest coming from a sustainably sourced feed.
The birds have been reared for around twice the length of time as commercial turkeys. Grown from day-old poults to maturity at around 6 months, they are a slow-growing breed that produces tasty meat with a good fat level to give a deep rich flavour and excellent cooking. They are generous, with succulent marbled meat and an exceptionally rich flavour.
